2. MALARIA!  Malaria is spread through the bites of fleas or ticks. Passing from victim to victim, it causes them to vomit and their skin becomes infected with black boils. It was known in the Middle Ages to cause millions of deaths as it has had a resurgence in Africa due to weakened immune systems.  This hurts Africa because people are so sick they can’t work or are spending time with their families to care for them. Jared Diamond’s documentary “Guns, Germs, and Steel” highlights the issues in modern Zambia with this illness and how the country is in destitute

3. WHY IS THAT BAD?  THAT’S NOT MALARIA. SOUNDS MORE LIKE BLACK PLAGUE! (Check your information….also the picture discusses Ebola)  Also not five sentences explaining the issue affecting Africa today.

4. NO FRESHWATER  People in Africa are suffering from drought. While drought is not an uncommon problem throughout the world, it seems to hurt Africa more. Due to its harsher terrain in the northern, arid parts and growing population, the available freshwater sources in Africa are dwindling.  “Water in Angola” explains that pipelines help the people gain freshwater as they are no longer attacked by crocodiles

5. WHY IS THIS BAD?  Lack of factual information (that was two sentences. Don’t care how good they are, all slides should have five strong sentences)  Work Cited isn’t addressing issue (what do crocodile attacks have to do with no water)  No information on why its crippling Africa today

6. VIOLENCE IN AFRICA  Violence is bad. It hurts many people all over the world.  It hurts Africa especially since no one is helping Africa with these violent people.

7. WHY IS THIS BAD?  A very weak factual explanation  Not specific enough (Remember, you need to tell me where this is happening. Sierra Leone? Somalia? Congo?)  Weak argument on why it hurts Africa.  No work cited  No picture  In essence, you’d barely get points for this
