The foundation is closing its doors in January 2020 and will spend all of its assets by then except for an endowment for our operating cultural center in Jerusalem. The foundation will not endow any programs or institutions other than Beit AVI CHAI in Jerusalem. In anticipation of the foundation’s closing, staff is working with key grantees to build internal capacities for their sustainability and viability post AVI CHAI. AVI CHAI plans to use the remaining seven years to develop partnerships to support existing and co-create new programs in our areas of interest. AVI CHAI’S SPEND DOWN WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

The Jim Joseph Foundation (JJF) Day school and camp professional development, research and policy and capacity building. The Kohelet Foundation The MATCH program and new efforts to advance online and blended learning in day schools. The Marcus Foundation A program to enhance Israel education at summer camps. The students, campers, educators and leaders who have participated in AVI CHAI sponsored programs.
