Programming Languages Should they be called languages or should they just be called codes?

What are programming languages? Java, Visual Basic, HTML, XML, C++, Java Script Languages made by man to tell a computer what to do Comprised of key words that the computer recognizes Uses a definite syntax that when used incorrectly, the computer is unable to understand

Methodology Look at various definitions for a language Determine common threads from the definition and create a common definition Compare Visual Basic and Java to the common definition and determine if either qualifies as a language
