7. The lowest part of the park is full of woods of larches, poplars, hazel trees, maples, wild cherries, birches, and ash trees. In winter it is not unusual to find tufts of edelweisses at an height of more than 2500 metres. They are the ideal scenery for the life of a rich and varied fauna and for a visit at the discovery of the wonderful world of high mountain. Wolves, dark bears and lynxes are the animals symbol of the park.

8. It is one of the biggest of the historical Italian parks. It has been established in order to protect the flora and fauna of the mountainous chain of Ortles-Cevedale. It is placed in the heart of the Alps and includes the typical valleys moulded by ice and water flowing from the mountains. The landscape of the park is made up of majestic peaks, green meadows, and streams whose water come from perennial glaciers.

13. For as the wildlife, the forest is definitely the realm of the wild boar even if there are many other species, such as foxes, hedgehogs, badgers.
