1 PHARMA PROJECT ALI, AMEER S, ALIAS@UPMC.EDU

2 PIVOTAL LIVING Imagine devices similar to Fit-Bit 100 of these monitoring devices given to students for continuous data collection CS students are intended to extract data from Pivotal Living company Attend biweekly meetings Create visualization dashboard Analyze outcomes (correlate with each your own grades to start with?) Report findings

3 POS (POINT OF SALES) SYSTEM Pharmacy services have a natural wait time (e.g., while medications are being filled), but new technology can reduce it Analyze current market Identify POS system and identify robotic system to be used Create a pilot for alleviating wait time Collect data (wait time, what type of services are rendered?) Serve patients (patients actually get service faster) Analyze data (where’s largest wait time; what services can be done in parallel Create solution

4 REFILL KIOSK IN SENIOR LIVING FACILITY Senior living facilities have some of the most medication burden in any high density area United States, but they do not have a simple process for initiating refills on her medications. Identify current market solutions Propose new solution that includes OCR, imaging techniques, robotic techniques to capture images that include vials, bottles, and box medications Analyze data to identify if current pharmacies’ APIs can be used for this new in-house solution (create and transmit refill numbers to the individual pharmacies to initiate fill)
