9. How to Help Your Child Prepare for the SAT or ACT? Students can start taking the PSAT test in the 9 th grade. This test is a great way to practice test taking skills before taking the SAT in the Spring of Junior year. Sign up for THE EDGE Fall semester of Senior year. Students have access to the Method Test Prep through Career Cruising their Junior and Senior year.
