1 Day 1 Session 2: Personal Story Target Pages: 6 - 11 A. I will ask and you will respond.  What is your favorite store?  Where is your favorite store?  Do you go to stores alone or with someone?  What kind of present would you like to give to your friend?  When did you give your mom a present? 2 B. Can you tell me about your story? 1. Nate the Great had his biggest case ever. He lost his best friend Sludge. Have you ever lost something which is very important to you? 2. Nate had to enter the store alone because a dog can’t enter the store. Do you know some stores wherein dogs can enter? 3. Nate had to wait in line for a long time for him to pay his present for Sludge. Would it be okay for you to wait in line?

5 Day 3 Session 2: Personal Story Target Pages: 19 – 23 A. I will ask and you will respond.  Do you often go in the hat department of the store?  What can you say about people wearing hats? Do they look cool?  Where is the nearest department store in your place?  When do you usually go to the department store?  Who comes with you in the department store?

6 B. Can you tell me about your story? 1. Nate asked the man if he saw his missing dog, Sludge. Would you also ask questions to strangers if you lost something? 2. Nate doesn’t want to go to the underwear department but he had to. What would you do if your friend and you see each other at the underwear department? 3. Nate had to keep looking for Sludge in different rooms although it feels a little bit awkward for him. Would you enter a strange room to look for something important?

They help me think. I knew there was a cafeteria at the back of the store. They serve great pancakes. But I did not want to go there. Read the words and construct sentences. 15 B. Can you tell me about your story? 1. Nate the Great had to think like dogs. He had to think about where do dogs love to go, what do they like to eat. If you were Nate, how would you find Sludge? 2. Nate asked a clerk in the store if he saw a slippy sloppy dog. Do you often ask assistance from store clerks if you can’t find something?

16 3. Nate the Great feels sad because Sludge can’t help him on his case. How do you feel when your friends don’t help you when you need them?
