Setting : In a foster home, cop office, a house, school Main Conflict: David is a child who is being abused by his mother. He is brought to trial to be taken away from his mother.
5
Definition of Theme: The act of being violence towards someone and yourself “With her free hand mother punishes my movement with a solid slap to my face” (Pelzer). “Before I can form a word, Mother again yanks on my right ear” (Pelzer).
6
One important scene in the book is when David is no longer part of the Pezler family. We chose this scene because I though it was a day of freedom where this kid no longer has to suffer from abuse.
7
“It is the recommendation of this court that the minor, David James Pezler shall become a ward of the court” (Pelzer). This scene is very important because this is the day were he is no longer abuse, a slave to his mother.
8
I can compare this to Anti-Cruelty Society to The Lost Boy. This story remind me of the Anti-Cruelty Society because I learned that these animals were once mistreated like David. For example a dog name Fifi was a brought to this shelter for the abuse he received by his owner who has life issues. Luckly he is being taken cared of and has tons of owners that care for him.
