Instead of listing the title & info, write which poem you are missing and an explanation as to why it is missing. Under each title list the type of poem and how many rough drafts You have.

Write your heading on a blank sheet of paper. List the following elements, skipping 3 lines between 1.Alliteration 2.Assonance 3.Consonance 4.Internal Rhyme 5.Simile or Metaphor (be sure to identify which one is in the quote listed.) 6.Personification 7.Hyperbole

After each poetic element quote a line (or lines) from the poem that contains an example of that element. Cite the quote by simply listing the line number or numbers at the end in a parenthetical citation. Highlight or mark the instances of the element in the quote. You will not receive credit for a quote that does not have the element marked. You may only quote a line once, even if it contains more than one poetic element. REMEMBER: IF THE WORDS RHYME, THEY CANNOT BE COUNTED AS AN EXAMPLE OF ASSONANCE OR CONSONANCE. EX: ALLITERATION: “By the men who moil for gold;” (2) When you are finished: staple the poem to the back of your paper, submit it to the basket, work on your Favorite Things Poem

USE THE REMAINING CLASS TIME TO WORK ON YOUR “FAVORITE THINGS” POEM THIS POEM NEEDS TO BE WRITTEN ABOUT SOMEONE YOU KNOW, WITH WHOM YOU HAVE A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP. IT DOESN’T WORK WELL TO WRITE IT ABOUT AN IMAGINARY PERSON, OR WITH A CHARACTER OR CELEBRITY. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO USE THEIR REAL NAME, USE A FALSE NAME, BUT USE A REAL PERSON.
