1 What is poetry? What do you think the purpose of poetry is? Do you like poetry? Why or why not? Minimum 5 sentences

2 Create one example of each poetic element:  Alliteration  Hyperbole  Similes  Personification  Metaphor

3  Desire=Fire- “burning with desire”  People’s desires eventually take control and lead to the destruction of the world because of greed  Hate=Ice- “cold shoulder” “cold behavior”  People’s hatred causes them to be cold. Eventually everyone starts being cold and this can destroy the world.

4 There is a shift in the poem between lines 4 and 5. At first, Frost talks about wanting to see the world end by fire. After line 4, he begins talking about the ice instead, and shows how ice is equally capable of destruction.

5 Give your evaluation of the poem “Fire and Ice” by Robert Frost. What did you think of it? Be detailed. Minimum 5 Sentences.
