3 Background The Health and Wellbeing Board for Staffordshire share an ambition to improve the Health and Wellbeing of Staffordshire residents Need to reshape services to deliver better outcomes and move resources to where they will make the biggest difference

5 What are we trying to achieve? Seeking views on how the Strategy can be delivered to ensure there is constant improvement in health and wellbeing of Staffordshire People. Specifically, How can resources be used better ? What should we stop doing or do less of ?

6 Priorities – a) Parenting The best way to help children in Staffordshire get the best start in life would be to  Make sure as many Mums as possible breastfeed?  Increase nursery/ early years provision?  Provide more information and advice on parenting?  Help Communities develop their own support?  Support flexible working for those who care for children?  Other ideas?

7 Priorities – b) Use of Alcohol and Harm from Drugs The biggest way to reduce harm caused by alcohol and drugs would be to  Persuade the government to change licensing laws and require minimum pricing?  Increase restrictions on where alcohol can be consumed?  Talk to young people in schools and colleges about alcohol and drugs?  Identify people with, or at risk of drinking or drug problems, more effectively?  Support communities develop their own solutions?  Other ideas?

8 Priorities – c) Supporting Frail Elderly The biggest way to help people live well and independently as possible would be to;  Provide more transport to help people access services locally?  Support more voluntary organisations to provide care locally?  Improve availability of good quality housing and accommodation?  Establish more support for carers?  Invest more in housing and suitable accommodation?  Integrate health and social care more?  Support communities to develop local solutions?  Other ideas?

9 Securing Success  We need to make the decisions we make improve the quality of life for people across Staffordshire. How will we be able to measure this success?  How might you be able to help us improve your own or your community’s health and wellbeing?

10 How comments will be gathered and used  We are consulting widely and in a variety of ways: Public meetings, consultation sessions with commissioners and providers, Workshops, drop-in sessions, Social media – Facebook, Twitter. Video conferencing. On line survey.  Feedback will be gathered and analysed for the Health and Wellbeing Board in September to influence commissioning decisions.
