EQ: Where is Earth’s water located? What % of water is available for our use? LT: I can describe the water cycle on Earth (Hydrosphere) POU: I will travel through a simulated “water cycle” I will document my journey using Pages and Popplet I will distinguish between the differences in changes of state of matter within the water cycle

Welcome! Warm-up 2/18 Write/Describe what you know about the water cycle. www.goo.gl/vta7d1

Open the PAGES app! Copy a document from WebDAV Server address (in pages!): https://lgmx.dpsnc.net/go Go to the From Mrs. Stoffregen folder Open 16.Water Cycle Travel Log RENAME it as your name Water Cycle

Water Cycle Travel Log There are 7 stations located around the room. You will count off by 7’s and report to your assigned station. At the station you will choose a slip of paper out of the beaker. Read your statement. Take a picture of your station, and record your station, directions, and destination on your Water Cycle Travel Log. RETURN YOUR SLIP TO THE BEAKER You will continue for 10 cycles. Return to your regular assigned seat.

After you have your travel logs completed, complete Discussion Questions You will need to share information about your travels with your lab group Create a Popplet about your Journey and insert into your Pages Document HOMEWORK: On a SEPARATE Sheet of paper create a story about your journey in 4 paragraphs (Include Water Cycle Vocab)

Count off and go to the following location for Cycle #1 –1 = CLOUD –2 = MOUNTAIN –3 = OCEAN –4 = RIVER –5 = GROUNDWATER –6 = ANIMAL –7 = PLANT

Water Cycle Vocab Condensation – the process of warm air cooling as it rises and releasing moisture in the form of a liquid Evaporation – the process by which a liquid is changed into a vapor Groundwater – water located below Earth’s surface Hydrosphere – the portion of the Earth that contains water Precipitation – the rain, snow, sleet or hail that falls from clouds onto the Earth’s land and oceans Surface Water – water found on the surface of the Earth Transpiration – water vapor given off by plant photosynthesis Water Cycle – the continuous movement of water from the ocean to the atmosphere to the land and back to the ocean

Water Cycle Activity alternate access to assignment Use Safari Go to: stoffregen.wikispaces.com Open 16.Water Cycle Travel Log in Pages
