5 Flowchart Flowcharts can be used by a student
to list events that have happened, or might happen, sequentially. Flowcharts are excellent tools that students can use before writing a five paragraph essay. Students could write about the process for making something with the help of a flowchart too.

7 KWL Matrix Students write down what they already
know about crayons or chocolates for example. They might want to know about how crayons or chocolates are made. Students can do research to learn about the process for making crayons or chocolates on the Internet.

Paraffin wax is heated until it melts. Crayon coloring and hardening powder are added to the hot liquid wax. Then it’s poured into hundreds of crayon-shaped holes. When it cools down it solidifies and forms crayons. Crayons are used for coloring. They come in different colors. How are crayons made? What are crayons made of?

9 Venn Diagram Venn Diagrams can be used when
students want to compare two things, people, events, places, or issues. This is a great tool when students need to compare books (for example two fairy tales), characters and endings of stories. Similar information is written in the overlapping circle and information that is different is in the other sections of the circles.
