6. Ebola! In recent weeks, there has been tremendous panic about Ebola in the United States. At least 18 cases have been treated in Europe and the United States in the last three months. Most were health and aid workers who contracted Ebola in West Africa (in the countries of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia) and were transported back to their home country for treatment. A doctor named Craig Spencer, who had recently been working with Doctors Without Borders in Guinea, tested positive for the Ebola virus in New York City on Oct. 23. Two nurses who contracted Ebola at a Dallas hospital have recovered

8. Big Questions Based on the information in the video clip, would you be in favor of banning travel between the United States and Ebola- afflicted countries? Why? Currently 75 percent of Americans and politicians from both political parties support a travel ban. Does this represent American xenophobia, or is it a reasonable response to a public health threat?
