10 10 The result: the MBS methodology Section ‘M’ – MANAGEMENT of hotel fire safety: –Fire safety register –Emergency Response Plan –Staff fire safety training (frequency/extent/recordings, etc.) –Fire evacuation drill (format and frequency) –Regular management checks/ routine maintenance and inspection of systems and equipments –Fire risk assessments II. 11 11 The result: the MBS methodology Section ‘B’ – BUILDING: –Design and construction must comply with the national/local standards –Design objectives and criteria to be achieved –No prescriptive requirements: set of advices and best practices –A thorough Risk Assessment will identify any deficiencies –Prioritise deficiencies and put into place a plan of remedial action. 13 13 State of affairs Endorsed by HOTREC G.A (November 2009) Final version released on 10 February 2010 HOTREC national associations to decide on how to make the best use of it (dissemination and /or integration into local fire safety instruments) National associations from 7 countries to start using MBS (AT, CH, DE, DK, FR, SE, UK) II.
