15 Major growth in Articulated Truck and LCV travel across Australia, more than twice the rate of Rigid Trucks On average, over the 5-year period, there have been: – 4 fatal HV crashes each week that resulted in about 5 fatalities – 10 fatal Articulated Truck crashes each month that resulted in 11 fatalities – 6 fatal Rigid HV crashes each month that resulted in about 7 fatalities – almost 2 fatal bus crashes each month that resulted in 2 fatalities On average 18.1% of all fatalities involve a HV. 16 National Road Safety Strategy (2011 – 2020) – Corporate responsibilities p35 – Organisational adoption of ISO 39001 Road traffic safety (RTS) management systems – Requirements with guidance for use National Road Safety Action Plan 2015 – 2017 – Action 18: Encourage private sector organisations to implement best practice fleet and workplace safety policies.
