4.  Floods are caused by heavy rain flowing through the drainage basin.  Another way floods could happen is when to much water comes down a waterfall and overflows the riverbank.  Floods are one of the most common natural disasters.

5.  When an earthquake happens and your inside, get under a sturdy object.  But if your outside, stay away from any tall objects that might fall on you.  Earthquakes are only about 1 minute long.

6.  You should always be in a basement when a tornado happens.  Tornados could reach wind speeds of 468 kilometers per hour.  Tornados could sound like a swarm of bees.

7.  A hurricane is a spiraling, low pressure air mass that builds over the ocean or sea.  Coastal areas are usually flooded by winds and strong waves.  Powerful winds create a wall of water called a storm surge.
