Freshman Year Writing Research Paper – based on an historical or contemporary issue of student’s choice Paragraphs/essays (literature based and other) - Cause and effect -Comparison and contrast -Narration -Description -Exposition Personal writing Creative writing

Is Accelerated Right for Me? Does the student enjoy reading? Does the student read at a quick pace? Does the student enjoy writing? There is about 1/3 more reading and writing assigned in the accelerated courses.

Accelerated 9 Requirements 95 Average Teacher Recommendation (about 25% of the 8 th Grade class was recommended with a 95 average) All English Courses Have Summer Reading Assignments
