Take the note card on your desk and… Write three facts about yourself. Write down two great concepts/facts you learned last semester. Detail one weakness that you have in English. If you go by a different name, please write it down on the note card.

Lunch: We have B lunch: 11:30-12:00 You are not to bring any food/drink from the cafeteria back to this room. You are expected to be in class prior to the bell. Once the bell rings, I will start class. If you are not in this room, you will be late.

You will need… A three-ring binder with four dividers Journals Grammar Vocabulary Class work Paper Pens/pencils Highlighters We will practice the skill of annotating! An independent book to read at all times for IR

How you will be graded… No different than your other classes Formative grades are 30% of your overall grade. Homework During reading assignments Summative grades are 70% of your overall grade. Vocabulary quizzes Unit cold reads Essays IR brochures

Expectations: Follow the Code of Conduct. Be prepared. Be polite. Be thorough. Be aware.

Around the classroom: Many, many ideas for IR Agenda and homework boards Every day I will have the agenda posted with any homework listed. Graded work and class notebook Each of you have a folder. Check it. Your graded work and any missing work will be there. Unit map Graded work is turned in to the basket on my desk.

Signature sheet: Please have this turned in by Friday, January 23. This will be your first grade!
