Consider the Facility Will you need to clean before the class? Is there a kitchen? How much space is there? Will you need to move furniture around to make the space appropriate for adult learning?

PLANNING FOR CLASSES Food Shopping Plan to go once a week Plan ahead! Look at the calendar for the week Make shopping lists based on all recipes you are making Shop for all classes, for the week, at once

PLANNING FOR CLASSES When you return to the office Separate ingredients by recipe, put into grocery bags, tie and label with recipe name Store cold foods in the refrigerator Label all supplies at the office either EFNEP or SNAP-Ed Clean up after yourself

PLANNING FOR CLASSES Time in the Office You should have classes every day of the week! Best times for office work are Monday morning and Friday afternoon ~2 classes a day (tues-thurs) ~1 class a day (Monday and Friday) Spend 4-5 hours a week in the office at most Use time efficiently

PLANNING FOR CLASSES Time spent teaching At least 2 classes per day 1 hour of class = 3 hours total time 5 days a week, 6 hours a day (M-F, 9-4) Take a lunch break!

PLANNING FOR CLASSES Weekly meeting with Supervisor: On Fridays fax both the calendar for the next week and the revised calendar for the current week Supervisor will review your calendar and weekly program planning sheet with you
