11 Why do schools work with ITE students? Enhance profile of the subject In pursuit of excellence – networking, business links, etc. School Curriculum – personal finance, work related skills, enterprise Career development of new staff Ex-trainees – to ‘give back’ to the PGCE course Known quality of enterprise planning and delivery

12 Enterprise Wheel How do trainees benefit from the Enterprise event?

13 Why include it in the PGCE programme? “I found that when I participated in the enterprise day as a trainee, it helps add that something extra to your CV so you stand out from the crowd. “It also helps you understand how it is different to how you deliver a lesson as you need to cater for a larger number of students and have an overall goal for the entire day rather than just an hours lesson. “It helped with developing organisation skills, working in teams and having to resolve conflicts with other team members or the teacher I was liaising with from the school. This in turn aids your confidence and prepares you for similar situations in the future. “As a host, it has been a good challenge supporting the trainees through this process as well as the benefit of raising awareness of Business studies.”
