PowerPoint Presentations Good for any student age. Advantages: – Record directly on the Presentation! – You can add graphics/scanned images for visual interest. – You can add quiz questions on the PowerPoint slides to check for comprehension. Disadvantages: – Only works if you have laptops available – Listeners cannot pause the sound How to do it: – Insert > Sound Pull-Down Menu > Record Sound

CDs Best with younger students Advantages: – CDs are portable – CDs are inexpensive – Easy for young listeners because the CD can be stored with the book. Disadvantages: – CDs are not free – CD players are expensive. (But, donations of unused CD players is a great option.) – Your computer must have CD writer How to do it: – Record Voice with Software (Audacity is free:)Audacity – Use your computer’s CD writer. Make sure it is set to work in any CD player, and not only on a computer!

Online Storage Best with older students Advantages: – Completely Free – Digitized Content cannot be lost by students. – You can link them to online read-along, listen-along sites! Disadvantages: – Technology Problems – Students will be on the internet How to do it: – Record Voice with Software (Audacity is free:)Audacity – MP3 is the most widely-recognized sound file format, which will lessen the delivery problems. – Upload the files to Online Storage site. Wiki Edmodo Google Drive – Link students to the files and let them go.
