Mercury Discovery and origins

Discovery Mercury was named by the Romans in honor of the swift footed god in their mythology. No one knows for sure who discovered Mercury but it is assumed that the Babylonians. No one knows how it was discovered either, but since it is visible without a telescope the ancient people could have seen it.
