The Long Story Short: 2011 FJC Camper Satisfaction Insights Survey Results: While the vast majority (96%) felt very positive about camp, we trended towards lower ratings on almost all measures across the board The ULTIMATE question: WHY? And the answer: The lack of information effect! “Camp was great, Mom. I already told you that!”

Following these results: 1. Jeff Rose, our Director, hired a year-long Communications Director 2. The Steering Committee appointed a Communications Committee 3. Communications Committee created a Strategic plan so that our communications were purposeful and goal-driven

Communications Strategic Plan, Two Goals: 1. Measureable Results 2. Display Values that relate to the goals of camp

The Values: 1. Programming is FUN! 2. Programming encourages skill building 3. Feature leadership of camp 4. Show staff in child care role 5. Atmosphere where child is proud to be Jewish 6. Campers building friendships 7. Show wide array of facilities (from cabins to each activity area) 8. Health/safety of child

Measureable Results From January 2012 – End of Summer Season: A 26% increase in Facebook followers 810 to 1,017 followers Facebook summer engagement of 8 – 12% A 83% increase in Twitter followers 304 to 555 followers An average of 137 people (total traffic) read each blog An average of 156 views (all time total play) for each video
