What are cookies? Before we begin this tutorial we should take a minute to explain what cookies are, and how they affect how well and fast you are able to navigate and access not only our website, but all websites. Put simply, “Cookies” are where frequently viewed data is stored for fast and easy access on webpages you’ve visited before. It allows the website to identify your computer and load any saved preferences you may have. Such as Usernames and Passwords. So why do I need to get rid of them? That is a valid question, the simple answer is that eventually all the saved data starts to build up. And then it is no longer beneficial, but now slows your browser down substantially.

Bad Cookies If a regular, good, cookie saves your user data and can be used to identify your computer when you access a webpage then it is logical to assume that there are also bad cookies, which is correct. Cookies can also be used to record your internet browsing history, this is how target-specific spam, and advertisements are generated. Cookies are automatically placed on your computer when you access a website, so getting worried about a bad cookie ending up on your computer is not necessary. You can’t avoid it anyway. But here, I will show you the steps you need to take to make sure you can remove all harmful cookies and let your computer run at optimal speed.

Step 1 – Internet Options Once you have opened Internet Explorer, you will need to click the small gear symbol in the top right corner of your bowser. As indicated by the red arrow.
5
Step 2 – Options Menu In this step, you need to click the button labeled “Delete”. As shown by the red arrow.
6
Step 3 – Final Step IMPORANT: When you finish this step ALL of your saved passwords and usernames WILL BE ERASED on EVERY WEBSITE that you have them saved on. So if you have information that you either - A) Don’t remember but need or B) Do not remember all of your passwords. Then please take the time before you finish this step to change all of your passwords to something you will remember, or write them down if you need to. Once this new menu box appears from selecting the “Delete” button in the previous step, simply choose the option that says “Cookies and Website Data”. And “Temporary Internet files and website files”. After clicking that box, select “Delete” at the bottom. After that you are all set!
