Girls may gain body fat early in puberty but later in adolescence they lose the extra weight as they take on a more womanly shape. Acne results from the skin becoming too greasy due to active sebaceous glands. Pimples etc are a result of clogged pores. Regular cleaning of the skin and a healthy diet will help control pimples. Breaking of the voice is a natural process in which the larynx and vocal cords enlarge. Menstruation is a natural part of being a woman and indicates that she is able to produce children. The first period marks the beginning of puberty for the female.
