How my views have changed after reading this book I didn’t know that the little girls in India were treated bad and when they got a certain age they were kicked out of the house.
6
What the book taught me about their culture I learned that the culture has arranged marriages. That means that their parents pick who their daughter is going to marry. I don’t think that arranged marriages should be allowed in other countries.
7
What fascinates you about the cultures in the book? When girls in India get married if their husband dies the become a widow and cannot re-marry.
8
What is the main conflict in the book? The main conflict in the book is that koly’s parents are having a arranged marriage for he, and she is marrying a boy that is very sick and dies as soon as she marries him and now she is a widow. Once you are a widow you cannot remarry or move back in with your parents.
9
If you were the main character in this book, how would you have handled the conflict? I would have been very scared, and not of know what to do. I would have tried to move back in with my parents.
