At the age of six, she was sent to the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Roehampton, England. Her later education Vivien completed in Europe. At 18 she enrolled in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. An Education

Marriage At 19 she married barrister Leigh Holman, whose name she used to create her stage name. A year later she had a daughter, Suzanne.
