4 4 MISSION  Design programs and plans related to education in the Arab Countries  Follow Up on the resolutions and recommendations which are related to education and scientific research.  Cooperating with NGOs and creating new platforms

5 5 Mission  Synchronizing with ALECSO between the different Arab governments, and the different Government organization, Ministerial councils, Specialized national and International bodies and NGOs  Organizing International Forums workshops and conferences related to the promotion of education- (Arab-South American Forum / Arab- Chinese Forum/ Arab-Indian Forum etc.)

6 6 Priorities  Development and Renovation of all aspects of Education being the core of development  As of the Tunis Summit in2004, focus on education was redirected in a way as to cope with growing globalization and a smaller world

7 7 Development  The steps for modernizing education were introduced in 2005 during the Summit of Alger where Arab leaders decided to provide free good quality education to ALL  During the Khartoum summit 2006, a call for a deep rooted qualitative change in the field of education was launched by Arab leaders

8 8  As a result a report on the Development and Improvement of the State of Education was presented to the Secretary General and the Arab leaders during the Riyadh Summit in 2007.  The report included the means and tools to raise the quality of education

9 9 PLAN FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION IN ARAB COUNTRIES  Based on this report, in 2008 The PLAN FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION IN the ARAB COUNTRIES was developed thanks to the efforts of ALECSO, the Arab League and several other international and regional organizations

10 10 PLAN FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION 2008  The PLAN FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION IN ARAB COUNTRIES was launched during the Damascus Summit (2008) where it was adopted by the Arab leaders with the hope to have an educational system valid for the 21 st century  Today this plan remains the main Reference to all the education ministries in the Arab world

13 13 The Development Summits  As of 2009 the first Socio Economic Summit took place in Kuwait, creating a new framework fully dedicated to developmental issues including education.  The Development Summit is a bi- annual event that aims at enhancing the importance of soft power in general and Education in particular

14 14 E-Learning  The introduction of the Tablet in national schools  Used for Promoting soft skills such as bridging conflicts, communication, conflict resolution, etc..  Accreditation of E-courses !!???  Best teaching Method for refugees camps.  Life long Learning

15 15 E-Learning for Employability  Promoting the teaching of Languages (BC & EFE)  Promoting inter-cultural education, bridging the divides

16 16 PROMOTING TEACHER ’ S QUALITY  Guiding Framework of Performance standards for Arab Teachers: Policies and Programs: A guidebook aiming at measuring the performance of the Arab teacher was formulated with UNICEF in order to upgrade the teachers ’ Skills  The Creation of Centers of Excellence for teachers such as HH Queen Rania ’ s center in Amman and the Teachers Academy in Cairo

17 17 OTHER Controversies  Workshops aiming at discussing and researching the dilemma of Private Lessons in the AW, was organized in collaboration with UNESCO  Literacy Education: a training course was organized for trainers combating illiteracy where 15 trainers from less developed Arab countries were invited for one week in the Serss el LLayan Center (Egypt)

18 18 THE SYRIAN CRISIS Collaboration with Arab governments  Promoting E-Education for Syrian Refugees in camps.  Granting Scholarships in collaboration with the UNHCR  Granting free education in public schools for Syrian children
