Your instructional memos will address this. The functionality will work basically the same as before, but with the new page designs to facilitate easier ordering.

31 State Identification Numbers SID Numbers are REQUIRED by NJDOE for ALL students. Twice a year during state required submission periods, the NJ SMART portal does not allow districts to acquire new SIDs for students entering NJ from out of state. In the fall of 2009, the SID portal will be closed from October 16 through November 18, 2009. In order to be assured of having HSPA pre-ID Labels for all their students testing in March 2010, districts should complete their SID management activities for high school students prior to October 16. Keep in mind that if a student transfers from another school district during the time the portal is closed they should still have a SID from the previous school district. This is also true for students testing out of district; the home district is required to provide the SID number for the student. Questions regarding SIDs should be directed to the district NJ SMART representative.

55 Online RCR-Adding Students Use the ‘Add New Student’ option ONLY for adding students that you know tested at your school, but who you cannot find listed on the RCR. Be sure to check first in all grades and by HSPA ID number before adding students in case the student is not where you’re expecting to find him/her.
56
56 Add Students, cont. When adding a student, you must check either ‘Add to Enrollment’ or ‘Missing Student’. This is especially important for March HSPA administrations due to data being reported for NCLB. You will see a list of all added students at the bottom of the screen. If you’ve added a student and then found that the student is actually already on the RCR, please delete that student from the added student list.
