10 Learning Objectives Knowledge of the historical developments which have led to the current state of the art/science. Understanding of the problems associated with working with images, sound and video. The ability to apply a suitable range of image handling / processing techniques. Understanding of the operating characteristics of hardware for multimedia systems. A solid basis for future development and study in the subject.

11 Teaching Organisation Two lectures per week for 11 weeks Two/Three hours of supervised laboratory work for 11 weeks. SEE TEACHING PLAN ON WEBSITE

12 Assessment Assessment by Coursework only Three pieces of assessed coursework Course work 1 –Group assignment –Video project (30%): weeks 1-6 Course Work 2 –Web CT Tests Weeks 6 and 12 (15%+15%) Course work 3 –Individual web site assignment I (40%): weeks 6-12
