Simile and Metaphor Comparison: Finding the similarities and differences A simile is a comparison between two unlike things using “like” or “as” A metaphor is a comparison between two unlike things that does not use “like” or “as”

Hyperbole An extreme exaggeration used to create an effect, not to be taken literally
