Survey Results
13
Why are local enrollments down? Fewer station resources Need for 15 learners minimum Economy College offerings competition for credit More individual, less group enrollments Teachers more comfortable online on their own
14
Running Local Courses Recruiting facilitators Require work with less staff Hard to get that minimum amount of teachers Districts creating their own PD in Moodle, Bb, etc.
15
Course Pricing Price is Right! Some states offer reduced or free courses based on DOE partnerships/grants Local/ESC courses are cheaper due to lower overhead
16
Revenue Sharing Options Flat percentage is preferred Need to help more stations become TL stations Revenue isn’t the issue with local course enrollments trending downward
17
Other station areas promote TL? Resounding Yes Promo spots Radio TV But there is a lack of understanding about what TL does, they just “run the spots”.
18
What can PBSTL National do to help? Data sharing of pre- and post-course assessments Subject specific course listing Advertising in Teacher pubs :( Other avenues for reaching local audience
