A FRAMEWORK FOR 24/7 DAVIDIC INTERCESSORY WORSHIP Isaiah Insight
2
The Waiting Isaiah 30:18-19 18 Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him. 19 O people in Zion, inhabitant in Jerusalem, you will weep no longer. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you.
3
David The Example 3 "Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, According to the faithful mercies shown to David. 4 "Behold, I have made him a witness to the peoples, A leader and commander for the peoples (Is 55:3-4) – Divine example; a testimony; a role model – Great mercy for the one who pursues – God will overlook our personal failures if we will listen and not give up in discouragement”
4
God’s House 7 “Even those I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples."(Is 56:7) – The fundamental, foundational characteristic of God’s House – prayer – The intended personal experience - joyfulness
5
The Bridegroom God: Intimacy 4 “It will no longer be said to you, "Forsaken," Nor to your land will it any longer be said, "Desolate"; But you will be called, "My delight is in her," And your land, "Married"; For the LORD delights in you, And to Him your land will be married 5 For as a young man marries a virgin, So your sons will marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So your God will rejoice over you” (Is 62:4-5)
6
Night and Day Prayer Isaiah 62:6-7 6 “On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the LORD, take no rest for yourselves; 7 And give Him no rest until He establishes And makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth (Is 62:6- 7)” – Once intimacy is established God’s people can enjoy and sustain night and day prayer
7
The King 10 “Go through, go through the gates; Clear the way for the people; Build up, build up the highway; Remove the stones, lift up a standard over the peoples. 11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the earth, Say to the daughter of Zion, "Lo, your salvation comes; Behold His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him“ (Is 62:10:11)
8
God the Judge 2 “Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like the one who treads in the wine press? 3 "I have trodden the wine trough alone, And from the peoples there was no man with Me. I also trod them in My anger, And trampled them in My wrath; And their lifeblood is sprinkled on My garments, And I stained all My raiment. 4 For the day of vengeance was in My heart, And My year of redemption has come (Is 63:2- 4)”
