Lessons Learned in Exile We reap what we sow God is still in control! God is doing a new thing (new covenant, new heart, new city) Exile – renewed vision – Israel is called to be a light to the nations

Lessons Learned in Exile Exile is a time of deep loss – home, confidence, power, God – and that loss must be mourned! Exile is a time that threatens identity – God’s people must remember who(se) they are!

Lessons Learned in Exile Exile becomes a time of robust faith for God’s people – they find new forms of life (synagogue) and engage in serious reflection on their faith stories (Scripture) to sustain their distinctiveness.
