Government Without Boundaries Concept was developed at the September 2000 NASIRE Meeting We are creating a virtual pool of online government information and services from all levels of government Participating States (Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia)

Two Initial Projects Virginia An online repository of government information based on a common citizen- focused taxonomy Webmasters at each level of government will utilize the repository in building their web pages New Jersey A shared calendar of park events that contains information from local, state, and federal parks.

Federal, State, and Local - Calendar of Park Events Jurisdictions participate by adding a link from their website to the shared calendar

Federal, State, and Local - Calendar of Park Events Jurisdictions add/edit their own events through a separate and secure administrative page.

Government Without Boundaries Benefits Citizens and businesses will not need to understand the structure of government to get the information and services they desire. Provides a foundation for dynamic web page creation and data exchange Promotes cooperation between various government entities

What are the future possibilities? Government as a whole will be able to provide high-level service at a reduced cost It will be easier for government entities to give their constituents the power of information

What are the future possibilities? Complementary service rather than redundant service An improved image for government as a whole and an improved morale for government workers The sky’s the limit!
