18. online citizenship = online safety We teach our children to swim not just to prevent them from drowning but also for the pleasure they may get from it and the benefits it brings to their health. Brent LSCB believes that we must teach children to ‘swim’ in the online world not only to ensure their safety but also to enable them to improve their emotional health and their enjoyment of the world. We must therefore encourage children and young people to develop as responsible online citizens.
