READ FOR MY SCHOOLRfMS Registration - Educator Educator Registration 1.From the home page / login screen, click Sign up as an educator, located beneath the login fields. 2.Please complete the educator registration form. All fields are required. 3.Upon successful registration, you will see your educator welcome screen (an email will be sent to you to confirm your reading group account details). 4.Click the Get Started button at the bottom of the Welcome Page. 5.You will be linked directly to your educator home page. This page will serve as your educator home page for the Read for My School competition. 6.Make a note of your Reading Group code – you will need to distribute this to pupils.

READ FOR MY SCHOOLRfMS Registration - Pupils Pupil Registration - Create Your Reading Group 1.From the home page / login screen, click sign up as a pupil, located beneath the login fields. 2.Complete the short pupil account form, inserting the Reading Group code. Then click Create Account. Later, you will be able to view the pupil username and password you have assigned as they will appear in your educator Reading Group. 3.After reading the welcome message, click Get Started and you will be taken to the specific pupil’s home page. 4.If you as educator are setting up the pupil accounts, logout from the pupil home page and repeat the process for the next pupil. You can always log back into your educator account to check that the registered pupils are being highlighted in your Reading Group.

READ FOR MY SCHOOLRfMS Home Page - Educator Educator Home Page View and access all pupil records associated with your reading group. View reading group progress against overall school reading goal. View and edit pupil accounts to manage reading group. Nominate pupils for reading and writing awards.

READ FOR MY SCHOOLRfMS Home Page - Pupil Pupil Home Page Home page broken into three (3) areas of focus: Read – tracks pupil reading records Write – tracks writing competition Share – tracks interactive polling Pupil can expand each area of focus and read books, participate in the essay competition, and share thoughts through polls. TOP TIP: expand the Read section on the homepage for the link to log a book read offline.

READ FOR MY SCHOOLRfMS - Read RfMS SECTION - READ There are over 100+ digital titles across eight book categories to choose from in the competition. Pupils can collect reading achievements by reading a book in each of the categories. Pupils can explore age-appropriate books based on age range.

READ FOR MY SCHOOLRfMS - Write RfMS SECTION - Write Pupils can participate in a writing competition. There is a short video for pupils to watch that explains the focus of the competition. Pupils can manage their essays – write, save, edit – throughout the competition directly from their personalised home page.

READ FOR MY SCHOOLRfMS – How it Works RfMS SECTION - Share Pupils and teachers can participate in interactive polls that are updated throughout the competition. Interactive polls are broken into four (4) categories Reading School Life Digital Life The Future

READ FOR MY SCHOOLRfMS – Resources and Support RfMS – How it Works section Educators and pupils can access the How it Works section on the top navigation bar which will contain key resources and customer support to assist participants throughout the competition. Programme overview, instruction, best practices, rules, and customer support are all available to RfMS participants.

READ FOR MY SCHOOLPrize Draws 100,000 books from Pearson and Penguin to be won! Everyone who reads eight books enters a prize draw – there will be hundreds of winners! Any school where 250 books or more are read enters a prize draw to win 100 books! More prizes to be won if you answer the questions in the Share section! Prize Draws

READ FOR MY SCHOOLRegional and National Winners Who read the most books? Who wrote the best letter to go with the books to children in Africa? Your teacher can choose two people to put forward for regional and national reading awards and more great prizes. Regional and National Awards

READ FOR MY SCHOOLRegional and National Winners Register and set up your Reading Group account from 20 January by clicking on sign up as an educator on the homepage. Set up pupil accounts from 20 January by clicking on sign up as a pupil on the homepage. Read, Write, Share and compete from 27 January to 28 March Nominate individual children for regional and national awards from 28 March Regional and national awards celebrations in May and June. READ FOR MY SCHOOLRegional and National Winners Get parents involved by sending them a version of the letter in the “downloads” section of “How it Works” Show staff members and pupils the video in the Programme Overview section of “How it Works” Get your pupils excited by showing them the full extent of the online library and explaining they can access anywhere they have an internet connection. Remind everyone that this is about Reading and Writing and winning prizes, but also about doing something that will benefit the school as well as schools in Africa. Spreading the Word
