1. Ways to Get Hours NEHS

2. Hour Requirements  Juniors: 4 hours (total) – starting in Dec of 2015  Seniors: 8 hours (total)  4 hours must be completed each semester.  Seniors who did not complete hours last year must complete their four hours by Oct 14/15 and still do this year’s hours.  December tracker hours are DUE: Mon, 12/14

3. Enter a writing competition.  Young Georgia Authors Competition & other writing contests.  Counts as one service credit.  Your ENGLISH teacher will sign off  The “Laws of Life” Essay does NOT count towards a service credit. Sorry. 

4. LASSO  # of hours you work there = # of service credits you receive.  9am – Noon on the following Saturdays:  September 19 th  October 10 th  November 7 th and 14 th  December 5 th and 12 th  Ms. Cruse or Ms. Zink MUST sign off on your attendance

5. Attend a LHS theatre/musical performance to support the fine arts.  Counts as one service credit.  Attach ticket or program

6. Help one of your English Department teachers.  # of hours you work = # of service credits you receive.  You CANNOT grade, but you can organize or decorate a bulletin board

7. Bringing in a Christmas gift for the children we will adopt.  Counts as one service credits.  DUE at our Dec 9/10 meeting  Ms. Harrison will sign off

8. Donate books during our NEHS Book Drive.  Counts as one service credit, no matter how many books are donated.  Spring 2016  Ms. Harrison signs off

9. Meeting attendance  Attend all four meetings each semester = ONE CREDIT  See Website for dates  Ms. Harrison signs off
