Games Parliament At Games Parliament last week all your suggestions for the new name of the Quiet Area were discussed and a short list of 6 names chosen: –Chillax Corner –Chillout Zone –Dreamland –Super Fun Time Area –Whomping Willows Voting slips will be going around each class this week to decide which name is most popular.

6. Eco Club Earth Hour WWF’s Earth Hour is a global annual event where hundreds of millions of people switch off their lights for one hour to show they care about our planet. It’s about people from across the gobe coming together to create a symbolic and spectacular lights out display and asking for change. It happens every year between 8.30 – 9.30pm on the last Saturday in March starting in Samoa and finishing in Tahiti. Its been growing every year, with more and more countries signing up – last year 162 countries took part! We want to mark the occasion in school again and it would be great if we could have an HOUR WITHOUT POWER. This will take place on Friday 27 March 11.15 – 12.15

11. Well Done to …………. We are very proud of the efforts 4th Kirkwall Brownies (Thursday) have made to raise money for charity and we wanted to share their success with you. The girls, who are in P3-P5 at Papdale and Glaitness schools, held a sponsored silence last Thursday, which raised £564.50 for Cardiac Risk in the Young (Orkney Heart Screening) This brings the total they have raised for charity in the last two years to £1274.30, an impressive total for 19 young ladies!
