Nicknamed “the kid” by Langston Hughs She created the Magazine the Challenger; it was a collection of works from young African American writers HARLEM RENAISSANCE Then she published the New Challenger; which featured "Blueprint for Negro Writing," an essay by Richard Wright. She was one of the last surviving writers of this period.
