Swaziland Fundraiser To raise money for Swaziland I will be selling pens in the atrium on Friday at break. They cost £1 (or 3 for £2.50).

China Immersion Course Students All students who went to China in July with Miss Lyon must attend a meeting in room 208 at break time on Friday (11 th ). This is to discuss a presentation required for the Parent Council AGM on Tuesday 22 nd August. If you cannot come on Friday, please see me this week.

S1-6 Hockey club! Mr Sands and Miss Hume will be coaching a hockey club on Tuesday 3:45-5pm on the astro. Girls and boys, all ages and abilities welcome! Come along after school on Tuesday in your PE kit with shin guards and hockey sticks if you have them!

Higher Gatsby Theatre Trip If you are studying ‘The Great Gatsby’ for higher then remember to hand in your £5 deposit and permission slip by Monday 14 th September to Miss Ramtohul (Room 229). DEBATING Calling S4-6 pupils who are interested in taking a LEAD ROLE in setting up the LHS Debating Society to attend a training session on Monday 17 th September 3:30-5pm. Please give your name to Ms Struthers (Languages Base/ Room 224) to register your interest.

This Saturday fixtures vs Trinity Academy S1,2 and 3 home to Trinity. S1’s meet at Lasswade High School at 8.30 am. S2’s meet at the rugby club at 8.30am. 9.30am kick off for all games. U16’s and U18’s away to Trinity. Bus leaves school at 8.10 am. Kick off is 9.30 am.

Up-cycle club If you like the idea of making something new out of old or discarded materials, see Mr MacInnes in room 011 on Tuesday lunchtime @ 1.15 to find out more. It’s open to all year groups, and is a really good opportunity to improve your workshop skills and have fun making something different.

Fairtrade Committee After successfully achieving out FairAware award last year we are hoping to continue our support of Fairtrade and earn our FairActive award. To do this I need your help to organise events throughout the year and lead change within our school. If you want to know more about the Fairtrade Committee (no obligation to join!) our first meeting will be; Lunch time Tuesday 15 th September in Miss Maltby’s Room 119 1.20pm - bring your lunch, there will be cakes!
