FAIR – Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research Austria China Finnland France Germany Greece India Italy Poland Slovenia Spain Sweden Romania Russia UK Observers Status of FAIR FAIR 2 nd Instit. Meeting, January 15/16 th, 2008 H.H.Gutbrod Leader FAIR Joint Core Team

Official start of the FAIR Project on November 7 th, 2007 at Darmstadt...............................................with about 1400 participants

FAIR Start Event November 7 th, 2007

 We have a project under way!  Who decided to participate and has not yet started to work should start now!  Do not wait to get design drawings from somewhere!  You are the designer, producer, installer, commissioner!  JCT -later FAIR GmbH - is ‘just’ project management

Call for Expression of Interest to participate in the construction of FAIR is a big success : The FAIR accelerator complex will be built by the leading experts of the FAIR countries! Something money cannot buy! Missing EoIs from: France, Greece, Slowenia, UK –Missing MoU countries most urgently invited to follow up the call, since we need to advance at the ISC meeting on February 18 th, upon recommendations of IKAB on January 8 th –Certain overlap of interests require creation of accelerator consortia, e.g. p- Linac, NESR, Super-FRS etc.. –Next steps..... Status of Response to Call for Expression of Interest (EoI)
