Static electricity: A stationary electrical charge that is built up on the surface of a material.
There are three ways to transfer negative charges from one substance to another:
Friction
Conduction
Induction

4. Conduction occurs when a charged object A touches a neutral object B
Conduction occurs when a charged object A touches a neutral object B. Objects A and B will then share the same charge. Induction occurs when a charged object A is brought close to a neutral object B; opposite charges on the surface of object B are attracted to object A.
