13. Wise-Mount Some of the principal PKI centres in the world are located in an area that has been subject to severe earthquakes. If an earthquake or other disaster causes an operations failure, their operations will be interrupted for a significant period. Wise-Mount is an Ultra Secure facility under the Swiss Alps in a geographically stable zone. This facility is already operational and provides our customers with an ideal mirror site for their PKI requirements under the WISekey Common ROOT currently being deployed in 170 organizations in 105 countries.

14. Global Deployment The remarkable growth of the WISeKey PKI continues unabated as the latest total of 214 Registration Authorities released today demonstrates. With 400 Registration Authority applicants now forecast by end of this year, WISeKey expects that the 10 million certificates mark will be reached by end 2001 if not sooner. The WISeKey PKI is in contact with 214 applicant organizations, many of which have been nominated by their governments through the ITUs EC-DC project, that are being enabled to provide secure electronic commerce services using WISeKey compatible PKI technology and services. Membership to the WISeKey PKI is expected to increase by the end of this year as some 51 new members join - taking the total close to 214 member organizations from 110 countries.
