3. Hebrews 11:11 “By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.”

4. Sarah’s faith was definitely not perfect.

5. She took matters into her own hands and tried to make God’s will happen on her own.

6. She laughed when she heard God’s ridiculous promise that she would have a baby when she was 90!

7. But God was not laughing; He was serious.

8. Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Will I really have a child, now that I am old?' Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you

9. at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.“ Genesis 18:13-14

10. God got the last laugh!

11. Lessons for us

12. When God seems silent, the waiting is difficult for us.

13. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and

14. in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

15. When God seems silent, don’t try to make it happen.

16. “God is never in a hurry, but He is never late.”

17. Ron Hutchcraft calls what Sarah did “backwards planning.”

18. Isaiah 30:1- “Woe to those who carry out plans that are not Mine, forming an alliance, but not by My Spirit, heaping sin upon sin.”

19. Psalm 27:14- “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

20. When God seems silent, pray, pray and pray some more.

21. Only time spent with God can bring us into His rhythm.

22. James 1:12: “Count is such joy when you experience trials because those trials come so that you may develop patience with God. If you are in the midst of a trial allow yourself

23. to ask God for help and He gives freely to those who ask.”

24. When God seems silent, you may not understand His timing but you must trust His faithfulness.

25. Remember the 100/90 rule.
