8 Erp/Ecodesign Directive EC/125/2009 what is that?  ErP- Energy related products, also outside the the electrical area. Transport sector excluded  Eco Design or Environmental Concious Design-The goal of environmentally conscious design is the reduction of adverse environmental impacts of a product throughout its entire life cycle. This can involve balancing the environmental aspects of the product with other factors, such as its intended use, performance, cost, marketability and quality, and choosing methods to meet legal and regulatory requirements in the most environmentally friendly way

16 Annex IV Internal Design Control  Procedure whereby the manufacturer or its authorised representative ensures and declares that the product satisfies the relevant requirements of the applicable implementing measure. The EC declaration of conformity may cover one or more products and must be kept by the manufacturer.  Requirements for the techical file:  description of product and of its intended use;  results of relevant environmental assessment studies carried out by the manufacturer, and/or references to environmental assessment literature or case studies, which are used by the manufacturer in evaluating, docu­menting and determining product design solutions;  the ecological profile, where required by the implementing measure;  elements of the product design specification relating to environmental design aspects of the product;  a list of the appropriate standards referred to in Article 10, applied in full or in part, and a description of the solutions adopted to meet the requirements of the applicable implementing measure where the standards referred to in Article 10 have not been applied or where those standards do not cover entirely the requirements of the applicable implementing measure;  a copy of the information concerning the environmental design aspects of the product provided in accordance with the requirements specified in Annex I, Part 2; and  the results of measurements on the ecodesign requirements carried out, including details of the conformity of these measurements as compared with the ecodesign requirements set out in the applicable implementing measure. 19 Eco-design  The production, distribution, use and end of life management of energy-using products (EuP) are associated with a number of important environmental impacts. It is estimated that over 80% of all product related environmental impacts are determined during the product planning phase; integration of environmental considerations as early as possible into the product development process appears therefore the most effective way for introducing changes and improvements to products. The ErP Directive is the first directive to focus on the designers competence
