2 Goals for today… To guide you through the MyData website Provide time to investigate its various capabilities To collaborate and share best practices for MyData Brainstorm ways to utilize the MyData website in order to strategically target student needs

3 Log into mydata.lausd.net Default Page for administrators – “Teacher Roster” Go here to select the teacher, class and period you wish to view Page lists: teachers, department, class, grade, period & # of students enrolled

4 3 Dashboards Classroom – School - Search Here you can look at data for your current students as well as former students Each has a drop down menu

5 Each has a drop down menu In addition, you can look at specific groups on students. Click on English Learners. Here you can search for a variety of data including, attendance, API/AYP, to Periodic Assessments. 3 Dashboards

6 SCHOOL Drop Down Menu: English Learners CELDT Annual Change The drop down menu gives a choice of display formats; either numbers or percentages. Clicking on the number allows you to drill down to specific students.

7 Go to the SCHOOL Drop Down Menu and choose Physical Fitness Clicking on the number allows you to drill down to specific students. Choice of display formats, either numbers or percentages. Healthy Fitness Zone

8 SCHOOL Drop Down Menu: Alerts, Secondary MEASURED AREAS CST scores – Periodic Assessments Grades – Attendance Rate - CAHSEE - # of Suspensions – Cum GPA Count of “at risk” factors Great for Counselors and Intervention Coordinators

9 Default Page for Teachers – “My Class Roster” Clicking on student ID numbers gives you a comprehensive student history report Clicking on headers can organize data by that field FYI – If you just click “class roster” you will get a list of all students alphabetically

10 Comprehensive Student History Report Summary All hyperlinked items lead to another report Try to click on the CST link here

11 CST Results for Individual Students Can see history of student CST performance level and scores by strand. Can also see trends of a student’s strengths and weaknesses

12 Back to Class Roster Remember you find current student data under the “classroom” dashboard Click on a specific Student’s ID who is indicated as Special Ed

15 Comprehensive Student History Report From the center column section marked “SOAR Periodic Assessments” choose a subject you want to view FYI – until students take the periodic assessments this year, you will have to look at previous year’s data

18 Core Subjects, Secondary TAB Choose subject area Information in alpha order on: Current demographics Attendance Grades Periodic assessments o ID standards with most success o ID standards with greatest weakness CST Scores & Placement o ID change from prior year

19 CST TAB Data can be displayed in numerous formats Choose subject area Click on the level or percent or number of students in any category to find out which specific students fell in that category To view specific ethnic, language, grade etc., select from the left side menu

20 CST TAB Gives percent scoring proficient in each strand Gives overall student performance by subject and grade level Results displayed by subject & grade level by content strand

21 CST Results by Content Strand: Classroom Report If you click on one of the bars… you will find specific student data Choose teacher and class from the drop down menu Looking at strand data, teachers can see strengths and weaknesses of their instructional program.

22 Specific Student Data by Class Displays the percentage each student scored correct in each strand This data gives teachers specific areas of student strengths and weaknesses. By going to the classroom drop down menu…and then clicking the CST tab, you may choose to look at this data for current students as well as former students

24 Think about ways to utilize MyData You have lots of information to chew on...

25 Each school is utilizing MyData at different levels. Write down some ideas to share on your “Give One – Get One” handout… How are you going to train your faculty on using MyData? (Will you use department meetings? PD time? Common Planning Time?) Which reports have you found to be most helpful? Are specific groups and/or departments on campus finding any one report beneficial? (i.e. Counselors, Dean, Intervention Coordinator, Bridge Coordinator) What strategies have you used to train teachers to analyze data? How does your administrative staff utilize the information in MyData? (plan PD, classroom observation, assistance & guidance) How do teachers use MyData? (Parent Conferences, IEPs, PHBAO Conferences, 1802 Conferences, Intervention, Curriculum Planning)
