In the beginning… In 2004, the Kuali Consortium was formed to create the Kuali Financial System, an open source financial information system. The University of Hawaii is a founding partner of the Kuali Consortium. Kuali Coeus (KC) is based on MIT’s Coeus system for research administration.

How Do I Access myGrant? Access through your web browser

Who will use myGrant? Anyone who submits a proposal for research and non-research activities Example Principal Investigators (PIs), Fiscal Offices (FOs), Deans, etc. myGrant may be accessed via UH login ID

What are the Benefits? Information is entered into different fields in the myGrant system Data validation and error checking Electronic routing View the status of your proposal through the approval stages Advanced budget calculation Grant access to other individuals to view or edit their proposal during the proposal development process. Save and copy proposals

Adjustments and Challenges Certain fields are required to be completed before moving on to the next section The system organizes data into different sections Viewing your entire proposal may require additional steps The ability to enter specific budget amounts is limited because the system performs automatic calculation based on standard rates

What happens after a proposal has been funded and an award received? After a proposal has been awarded, information is entered into myGrant by ORS. Serves as system of record. Data used to generate reports. myGrant will integrate with Kuali based financial Software KFS
