How We Got Started. (1) Pictometry Representative Demonstrated “Critical 360” To PVA and I Called Judge Ex. (2) Judge Ex. Watched Demo and Called School Superintendent For An Appointment.

We Went To School Board (3) We Made Presentation To Superintendent The Next Day And Got His Endorsement. (4) Two Business Days Later I Made Presentation To School Board Meeting. (5) Before Board Meeting I Had Explained To Newspaper What I Would Be Demonstrating. School Board Approved! (6) Great Public Relations For Everyone!

Now The Work Begins! We Began By Talking To Agencies That We Thought Would Want To Participate. The More We Talked To Different Agencies, The More Agencies We Found That Wanted To Participate! We Grew From PVA Office to School Police, to 911 Office, The Sheriff’s Office To “The School Shooting Incident Group”.

Training Begins! Training Began With School Personal Using A 360 Degree Fisheye Lens Camera In “Each” Room in All School Buildings. Rooms Must Be Vacant! “Each” Includes Class Room, Gym, Janitors Closet, Offices, and Hallways! The Camera Is Easy To Use! Documentation System Is Simple!

Critical 360 Images Now Had To Be Attached To All Building And Floor Plans. Critical 360 Images Of Each Room In A School Gives The Officers A Better Knowledge Of The Surroundings They Will Be Dealing With! Why Is This So Important! It Took 23 Minutes Before The Police Entered Columbine High School! They Didn’t Know Enough About The Inside Of The Building To Go Rushing In!

What Does A Critical 360 Image Do?

Each School Building Location Is Different Seconds Mean Lives, Kids Are Being Shot! Staging For First Responders, Casualty and Triage Locations, Landing Zones For Medical Helicopters, Roads To Be Shut Down For Perimeter Security Etc.

Digital Floor Plans With Teacher And Student Data Attached Digital Floor Plans Must Be Laid Over Each Building. Fisheye Lens Camera Must Be Used In Each Room. Each Dot On Floor Plan Represents A Camera! 13 Different School Location!

“Active School Shooting Incident Team” Pictometry, PVA, School and City Police, Sheriff, State Police, 911 Become Partners. 28 Different Agencies Join in Planning. 1 st Goal Was To Stop Threat Of Active Shooter. 2 nd Goal, If It Happened, How To Stop Shooter ASAP. 3 rd Goal Is To Evacuate Students From Danger. 4 th Goal Is To Return Students and Faculty to Normal. Public Relations: Make Public Aware. Inform Students And Family. Cut Minutes Off Active Shooter’s Life To Save Lives. During Assault How Will School Staff and Children React.

Plan Of Action! First Responders Must Have Attack Plan In Place And Practice Plan. School Administration Should Use “Card System” For Silent Communication. Staff Must Be Trained To Use “Card System” Before IT Happens! No Shortcuts In Planning!

Seeing Room to Room
